Advanced internships are for psychologists who have already earned a final clinical psychology or neuropsychology diploma from a university outside Québec and Canada. If you are working as a psychologist in another country and you wish to request the issue of a degree equivalency, the OPQ may require you to first undertake an advanced internship in a Québec milieu.
Advanced internships are also for university diploma holders who are looking to access the title reserved for psychologists and are currently undergoing their degree equivalency with the OPQ to obtain their licence to practice.
The Institut offers advanced internships of at least 300 hours, enabling psychologists to meet the admissibility requirements of the OPQ. Internship requirements (number of hours, number of days per week, length, etc.) can be discussed with supervisors.
All costs associated with processing the OPQ request and fulfillment of the internship are the sole responsibility of the candidate.
