This program offers care services by a multidisciplinary team made up of psychiatrists, psychologists, criminologists, social workers, and clinical nurses. The goal is to help individuals who have been hospitalized at Institut national de psychiatrie légale Philippe-Pinel to reintegrate into the community.
These services are provided to adult clients with mental-health issues who have a potential for aggression and fall under a variety of legal statuses. This means some individuals will receive care on a voluntary basis, while others will be subject to an order from the Tribunal administratif du Québec (TAQ)—that is, they were found not criminally responsible on account of mental disorder.
- Types of services:
Criminological monitoring in the community; evaluation of mental state; evaluation and management of risk factors when it comes to harming themselves or others; - Group interventions to improve self esteem and facilitate reintegration into society;
- Monitoring by the Social Integration Team, made up of psychoeducators and educators.
Referral sources
All referrals originate from the Institut national de psychiatrie légale Philippe-Pinel.*
*All beneficiaries are hospitalized at Institut national de psychiatrie légale Philippe-Pinel and pursuing their reintegration under the care of the transition-reintegration team.

- Maintain the stability of the individual’s mental state;
Evaluate and manage their risk of violence;
Progression towards treatment within a framework with as few restrictions as possible;
Improve quality of life.
