Specialized Services
Programme Réseau provides two types of services: appraisals and clinical monitoring.

 

Appraisals
When it comes to expertise, the Institut’s mandate for external services within the framework of criminal proceedings is to meet the demands of judges from criminal courts, the municipality of Montréal, and surrounding regions (Montérégie, Laurentians, Lanaudière, Laval, and other regions further out). We are committed to providing 300 appraisals annually (aptitude, criminal responsibility, pre-sentencing).

 

Clinical Monitoring
Requests to take temporary charge of a patient are admissible if they meet the following criteria: a written agreement with the CSSS responsible for the individual; the agreement must define objectives, services provided, the conditions under which these will be offered, and the CSSS’s commitment to take back full responsibility for the person when the agreement ends; the targeted period is six months and can be extended if recommended by the patient’s clinical condition, so long as both establishments agree on the agreement terms.

This program is for external psychiatry clinics within the framework of a temporary service agreement, as well as the Institut national de psychiatrie légale Philippe-Pinel’s external clientele.

 

Eligibility requirements:

• Patients 18 or over;
• Axis I disorder that can be associated with an axis II disorder;
• Outpatient;
• Risk management complexity or legal context;
• If the patient also has an addiction, this must be related to a disorder that is not an antisocial disorder.

Exclusion criteria:

• The client has a mental retardation
  The client has a brain injury without an associated psychiatric disorder
• The client has an addiction without an associated psychiatric disorder
