Board of Directors

• General practitioner : A general practitioner who practices within the centre’s territory, designated by and from among the regional department’s general practice members.
• Medical specialist : A medical specialist designated by and from among the council of physicians, dentists, and pharmacists.
• Hospital pharmacist : A hospital pharmacist designated by and from among regional pharmaceutical services committee members.
• Council of Nurses : A person designated by and from among members of the hospital’s council of nurses.
• Multidisciplinary council : A person designated by and from among members of the hospital’s multidisciplinary council.
• Users’ Committee : A person designated by and from among members of the hospital’s Users’ Committee council.
• Academia : A person appointed by the Ministry and representing academia.
• Nine independent people.
• President and CEO : President and CEO of the hospital, appointed by the government on recommendation from the Ministry.

According to the Act to Modify the Organization and Governance of the Health and Social Services Network, in Particular by Abolishing the Regional Agencies (art. 28 and 29), the Board of Directors must :

• administer the affairs of an institution and, if applicable, the affairs of a grouped institution and exercise all their powers except those granted to members of a legal person;
• administer services of a cultural or linguistic nature provided in the facilities of that institution;
• organize the institution’s services in keeping with province-wide orientations;
• equally distribute, within the bounds of the resource envelopes allocated by the service program, the human, physical, and financial resources at its disposal, taking into account the characteristics of the population it serves, and ensure that such resources are used economically and efficiently;

The medical examiner is appointed by the Board of Directors on the recommendation of the council of physicians, dentists, and pharmacists and the research committee. The medical examiner’s role is to examine any complaint made by a user, research participant, or any other person which relates to a physician, dentist, pharmacist, or resident at the Institut in accordance with the law, whether or not the professional is a member of the CMDP.
