This mental-health unit for female offenders accommodates inmates from different penitentiaries across Canada on a voluntary basis.
This unit has three mandates:
- Evaluate offenders at the request of institutions.
- Offer crisis treatment to women with psychiatric disorders that surpass the capacity of their local penitentiaries.
- Treat women with severe personality disorders.
The maximum say is 12 months.
