This program is for institutionalized individuals who present a risk of violence associated with severe, persistent psychiatric disorders which may include secondary diagnoses.

Most patients are under legal mandate, such as an order from the Review Board for Mental Disorder, following an offence.

The program’s goals are to assess the level of dangerousness and psychiatric disorder, implement appropriate treatments, put together a social reintegration plan, and articulate the whole to all family, hospital, and community resources concerned. The program is geared towards rehabilitation, in partnership with the patient and their loved ones. The assessment and management of their dangerousness lies at the heart of the program’s care process, and this is carried out in conjunction with multidisciplinary, pharmacological, psycho-educational, psychological, and family help.
